Reindeer Games Film (2000) Official Trailer 1 - Ben Affleck Movie
Reindeer Games Movie Description
In "Reindeer Games Movie" might not go down as one of the best written or brilliant movies ever made (and truth be told, it wouldn't be for the fact that it was directed by the late, great John Frankenheimer, and Had it starred Ben Affleck or Charlize Theron, it might not have seen nearly as much on this site as it has), but that doesn't mean it's without its merits.
At heart, it's a simple story: prison convict Rudy Duncan (Ben Affleck) and his cell mate Nick Cassidy (James Frain) are two days away from being released around the holidays when Nick is killed in a prison riot.
Saddened and distraught, Rudy is released, but not without assuming Nick's identity when he sneaks out of the prison gate to impress the beautiful and charming Ashley (Charlize Theron), whom Nick has been texting.
and intended to build a hut with him. Rudy tells himself it's only until after the new year, but unbeknownst to him, Ashley's brother, Gabriel (Gary Sinise with Lt. Dan's hippie hairstyle) and his crew of gun-wielding thugs have set him up.
was forced to rob. An Indian casino (disguised as a bunch of Santa Clauses, of all things!) because they think he is the real Nick Cassidy, who has just worked as a security guard for the same casino.
Hey, what's the situation! From there, it's a race against time as Rudy tries to stay one step ahead of the sadistic Gabriel and how to escape his life just in time for Christmas.
But along the way, Rudy will find that there are some twists and turns and despite his best efforts, he may end up spending Christmas in the morgue.
What makes "Reindeer Games Movie" watchable and decently entertaining will be primarily the direction of master thrill maker John Frankenheimer.
With his eye for the camera, he's able to squeeze the most tension out of any performance or script, no matter how intriguing and under his watch, the atmosphere is tight, fast-paced, and the story never stops. Is.
It also helps that the Reindeer Games film has decent performances, even from Ben Affleck himself. While I can't say that Ben Affleck is the greatest actor in the world, under the right circumstances, he is capable of good work, and under Frankenheimer's tutelage, he does very well here.
It's also worth noting that Charlize Theron as innocent Ashley, Gary Sinise's performance as the gun-wielding truck driver turned robber Gabriel, does a fine job of being the film's bad guy - even if the character is one-dimensional.
Ho — plus the fact there are notable actors playing his henchmen like the always dependable Danny Trejo, the underrated but solid Clarence Williams III, and good old-fashioned Donal Logue.
Plus, you'll see some notable cameos like Isaac Hayes as a fellow criminal, a really random one from Ashton Kutcher as a casino patron (huh?), and a short one from the late Dennis Farina as a sleazy casino manager.
But remarkable performance. "Reindeer Games Movie" may not be reinventing the wheel, but with Frankenheimer's direction (his final feature film), some good acting, good action, and some decent plot lines here and there, it's not a bad way to waste some time. Is. merry christmas!
This is one of those great action flicks that is totally underrated on IMDb. Great plot twist, great acting, great actor, great story.
This Reindeer Games film kept me hooked all the way through. This was when Affleck still had the charisma of Good Will Hunting.
Charlize Theron dazzles us with her smile and charm and Gary Sinise is terrifying as the intimidating "big brother". My only complaint was that there were too many plot twists at the end. Otherwise, settle for a smooth ride.
My favorite part of this Reindeer Games movie is the prison scenes in the beginning and the end. The prison sequence was very well done and Affleck is instantly recognizable as the car jacker.
The final scenes after the explosions are a great touch, a nice touch to an enjoyable Reindeer Games movie. Sinise's fellow gang members are also excellent, their intimidation tactics and craziness transmitting nicely to the screen.
Watch this Reindeer Games movie around Christmas time. It may have some other value.
I can imagine the pitch for "Reindeer Games Movie" being thrown at the execution behind the picture...
"Well, it's about this guy who isn't who he says he is, who everyone thinks he is, who fools these guys into thinking he loves this girl." who thinks he is, even though he isn't, and they try to steal from his expertise, even though he has no expertise."
Nick (Ben Affleck) has just been released from prison for defending his girlfriend in a fight before being thrown in the slammer.
Upon his release, he is greeted by a longtime pen pal named Ashley (Charlize Theron) and he immediately hits the sack. However, his brother (Gary Sinise) wants Nick to help them pull off a Christmas Eve heist at a local Indian casino, which is run by a money-hungry wannabe (Dennis Farina).
His brother kidnaps Nick, holds a gun to his head and orders him to draw a sketch of the security points at the casino, as he used to work there and knows everything there is to know about the casino. There is one minor detail, however, that may hinder their plan.
Nick is not Nick.
Nick is actually a car jacker who overhears his prison cellmate Nick reading aloud his letters to a penpal named Ashley.
Nick was killed in the prison cafeteria before he could be released, and so Nick assumed his identity so he could meet the infamous Ashley he'd been hearing about, forming a mental picture of her in his mind.
If you take the time to stop and think about all the little details of the Reindeer Games movie's plot (especially the "twist" ending), you'll probably come to the conclusion that it's all a bunch of bull. It doesn't make sense if you really take the time to think it through.
If you don't put your mind to work, though, you might find yourself having fun watching director John Frankenheimer's last film.
Frankenheimer was a talented director, producing such films as "The Manchurian Candidate," "Seconds" and "Ronin." His last feature was at his most stylish and brutal, sharp-tongued, witty and often sit-down fun.
Gary Sinise ("Forrest Gump," "Ransom") is his usual villainous self, while the real surprise comes from actress Charlize Theron, who changes character greatly through the Reindeer Games film, especially toward the end, and becomes a real Beauty and happiness is watch.
He's the high point of the film, and although people criticize the plot, I found "Reindeer Games Movie" to be mildly inventive with its shifting twists and turns, even if they're not always so believable.
The downfall of the Reindeer Games film is its ending, which feels like the filmmakers got caught up in all its twists and turns and inadvertently wrote themselves into a wall, then suddenly turns into a cheesy, clichéd ending scene of a passionate good guy. slapped on the end. It's rushed, silly, and doesn't fit in with the rest of the Reindeer Games film.
Despite its myriad flaws, "The Reindeer Games Movie" (or "The Deception" as it's called in the UK) is a fun Reindeer Games film, John Frankenheimer's final film.
"Reindeer Games Movie" is often linked to Sergio Leone's "Once Upon a Time in America" as the picture of Frankenheimer's longtime dream.
Like the last words of a dying man, perhaps it conveyed some hidden meaning to Frankenheimer. Or, maybe everyone was wrong. Maybe "Reindeer Games Film" is nothing but another Frankenheimer Reindeer Games Movie, it just isn't as good as his other movies.
But "Rosebud" meant nothing to none other than Charles Foster Kane. Perhaps "Reindeer Games Full Movie" meant something to John Frankenheimer.
However, as anyone who's ever seen "Citizen Kane" probably knows, it's unlikely we'll ever figure it out, even if we tried.
