Almost Famous Movie Description
in Almost Famous Movie Finally, a worth the full ticket price! Almost Famous is Cameron Crowe's semi-autobiographical story of an aspiring rock journalist who goes on tour with a band in the 1970s.
If this sounds familiar, Almost Famous Movie story is probably hardly new. Dozens of Almost Famous Movie have been made about Almost Famous Film rock and roll lifestyle: drugs, sex, fights and all the obstacles to success.
So what sets Almost Famous apart? Acting, for one. Frances McDormand was superb as Almost Famous Film well-meaning but domineering mother of William (newcomer Patrick Fugitt).
Fugit, for her part, portrayed a shy, awkward teenager struggling to be a journalist but also aching to belong. Kate Hudson, in her breakout role as groupie "Penny Lane", gave her character depth beyond a limited role.
And Billy Crudup, as Almost Famous Film charismatic lead guitarist of the band Stillwater, shines. Jason Lee is always good, and as Almost Famous Movie lead singer of Stillwater, this role is no exception.
And I can't review this Almost Famous Movie without giving a shout out to Almost Famous Movie chronically and criminally underrated Philip Seymour Hoffman, who steals every scene with his portrayal of legendary rock journalist Lester Bangs.
The writing in Almost Famous Movie also contributes to its effectiveness. Many of the best lines are from McDormand, but there are plenty of lines to go around.
Plus, the era's music can't be beat. Everything from Simon and Garfunkel to Alvin and the Chipmunks appears at some point in Almost Famous Film extensive musical score.
Almost Famous Movie plot may not be particularly original, but it rings true. I'm definitely approaching this review as a music fan and someone with an interest in the industry.
Still, I believe that even people who couldn't care less about rock music will enjoy this Almost Famous Movie, because it's not so much about music as it is about life.
A central theme is William's struggle: should he remain an aloof but lonely outsider in order to be an impartial journalist, or allow himself to befriend these people and feel like he belongs? In addition to raising questions of journalistic ethics, this dilemma reflects much of what people in all walks of life deal with on a daily basis.
Almost Famous is realistic, funny, touching, and one of those rare Almost Famous Movie that makes you feel like you accomplished something just for watching it.
It's too bad they say rock and roll is dead, because we could definitely use more Almost Famous Movie like this!
Now I don't know all Almost Famous Movie facts about the real stories behind this, but it's clear that there is so much love and research for what happened, that it translates to the screen. You can feel Almost Famous Movie love for what is being shown and feel the passion of its makers. All included are included.
I saw an alternate long cut of it (called the bootleg version), so I can't really speak for the original theatrical cut.
But I can recommend anyone looking at long cuts. It's more than worth it. It is really amazing and breathtaking. The story holds up and we can identify with the guy or other characters in Almost Famous Movie, which is what makes it so accessible.
The humour, the music, Almost Famous Movie acting, the way it was put together/edited helps take it to a different level.
I almost feel embarrassed for not seeing this before. But I did well for it so I could celebrate its 20th anniversary.
William has an overprotective mother, and his sister has already refused to acknowledge her children's ambitions and interests.
William finds solace in his sister's music collection and begins to dream of a life as a rock journalist. At the age of 15, William manages to land a job with Rolling Stone magazine interviewing an up-and-coming band named Stillwater, and he quickly finds himself immersed in Almost Famous Movie life that his mother grew up with. Desperately wanted to protect her.
And so the story begins, as William travels with Almost Famous Movie band, we are taken on a journey of disbelief, discovery, deceit and despair; Interspersed with harsh truths about the band's lifestyle of drugs, alcohol, sex and music.
Almost Famous pulls no punches, and is a keen insight into the dream that became an ambition, that became a harsh reality.
Packed with all-round top-class performances and a scintillating musical score, Almost Famous delivers with attitude and realism that's rarely captured on film.
A must-see for fans of the genre, but there's definitely enough in here for everyone.
There was a time in Almost Famous Film US rock circuit before music videos and online marketing. This was also the time when many little-known bands toured across the country... mostly with drags and gangs.
Writer-director Cameron Crowe takes us back to that infamous 1970s scene of sex, drugs and rock n' roll with this semi-autobiographical masterpiece, fueled not only by his brilliant direction and screenplay, but also by some relatively good Even from Almost Famous Film demonstrations. lesser known actors.
Almost Famous Film introduction of a non-famous band here, a fictional band called Stillwater, was significant. In that sense, Stillwater is a perfect work by Crowe...
with a volatile relationship between singer and guitarist, a non-competent manager and all that comes with it. There were also groups that, in Crowe's view, became abstract subjects.
But the most extraordinary thing Crowe did is create an image of himself as rock journalist William Miller, a 15-year-old writing prodigy. The audience sees Almost Famous Film through Miller's eyes.
Almost Famous Movie character is very well designed and reserved by Crowe. Miller is the one who single-handedly becomes able to connect all the parts into a complete film.
Billy Crudup was probably Almost Famous Film best of the actors as guitarist Russell Hammond. It is true that his role was not difficult, but he made it look so easy. Young Kate Hudson as Penny Lane is perfect and so sweet.
She showed her mettle in this film looking even better than her mother Goldie Hawn. He needs good roles in future.
Other actors, such as Jason Lee as singer Jeff, Frances McDormand as Williams' over-protective mother, and other Band-Aids (along with Oscar-winner Anna Paquin) also did well.
And newcomer Patrick Fugit, as Miller himself, is genuinely brilliant. Getting more screen time than anyone else, it was a tough test for Fugit and that's all praise for him.
The soundtrack was great with some great original songs. Almost Famous Film may have some minor flaws, such as a few unnecessary scenes, but all in all a very excellent piece of work...a feast for Almost Famous Movie mind and soul, both for a hard rock n' roll fan and the casual viewer .
The casting of Almost Famous is perfection. Almost Famous Film music is sublime; Would one expect anything less with Nancy Wilson at the helm of the soundtrack? The cost of syncing some of Almost Famous Movie most iconic classic rock songs cost investors a pretty penny - it was money well spent, as the film thrives on one of the best soundtrack syncs in film history.
Almost Famous is the classic Cameron Crowe - a semi-autobiographical film that draws from his own experiences as a young journalist with Rolling Stone magazine in the early 1970s. Yes, most of Almost Famous Film events in the film (including the airplane scene) actually happen with Crowe there as a witness (albeit being an amalgam of the various bands and situations Cameron covered as a rock journalist).
You care about characters that develop and unfold throughout Almost Famous Film. Crowe's spot-on casting and "director of actors" skills served as a catalyst for the actors, prompting the cast to draw out each character's intimate feelings and thoughts without crossing over into melodrama – the result being a Almost Famous Film acting is an ensemble cast.
Massively famous to both classic-rock fans and Almost Famous Movie buffs.
You get to see many early career appearances including Kate Hudson, Zooey Deschanel, Billy Crudup, and yes, even Jimmy Fallon.
Philip Seymour Hoffman and Frances McDormand are nearly flawless as ever.
